Who are we?
Introduction of the trainers for the Adoption Coaching Course
Bina de Boer
Born in India and raised in Friesland as Mirjam, Bina experienced a childhood of love and stability, until the sudden loss of her adoptive father and a move to a new stepfamily drastically changed her life.
The loss of her adoptive father and the birth of her children brought up deep questions about identity, distance, and adoption.
Due to the lack of adoption-sensitive help, Bina decided to make it her mission to highlight the impact of early childhood trauma and develop appropriate support.
Since 2005, she has been guiding adoptees in their emotional and inner growth. In doing so, she combines NLP, Applied Psychology, Transcultural Systemic Work, Adoption Constellations, and Body-Oriented Trauma Work (Somatic Experiencing).
In addition, she has trained numerous adoptees and professionals, including as a lecturer in the Minor Adoption and Foster Coaching at HAN University of Applied Sciences Nijmegen and at the School of Systemic Consciousness.
Since 2019, she has also worked as a Transcultural Systemic (Adoption) Coach and Trainer.
She focuses on adoptees, adults in foster care, and people with early childhood trauma or a migration background.

Wahyudi Hoekstra
Wahyudi Hoekstra, also known as Joop-Jan Hoekstra, represents the Frisian, Dutch, and Indonesian cultures. As a coach with 19 years of experience in personal development, he helps individuals.
and companies with their growth.
His background as a policy officer at municipalities and a club manager in the fitness sector has given him a broad perspective on people and organizations. In addition, he has been providing coaching and career training for 16 years.
With a Master in Learning & Innovation, Wahyudi uses his knowledge to inspire others.
His interest in Eastern philosophy and mindfulness led him to found the “KINDweesKIND” foundation, an initiative to support orphans in Indonesia. As an adoptee, Wahyudi understands the complex experiences of detachment and adaptation. He uses these insights to guide other adoptees on their path to self-development.

Our collaboration
Bina and Wahyudi, raised as Mirjam and Yudi in Dronrijp, Friesland, shared a common sense of connection from an early age, even though their paths diverged for a long time. Their individual processes surrounding separation and adoption have deeply shaped them both. Drawing on their personal and professional experiences, they decided to join forces to support other adoptees on their journey toward self-insight and growth.
By combining their knowledge and life experience, they create a safe space with the Adoption Coaching Course for fellow adoptees to learn, heal, and develop skills that lay the foundation for adoption coaching.

Adoption Coaching Course
Why?
In addition to regular support services, the demand for Peer Professionals has increased significantly in recent years. This is partly due to evolving perceptions regarding distance. As adoptees increasingly have the opportunity to develop themselves and others, the demand for training that educates adoptees in professionally supporting other adoptees has also risen considerably. Through their lived experiences, adoptees also form a safe foundation for other adoptees, empowering them to face their own processes.
For whom?
The adoption coaching course is offered to adult adoptees who wish to coach or support other adoptees in their personal development and with issues surrounding their adoption. The course is also suitable for adoptees who want to gain knowledge and insight into their own experiences in order to explore and strengthen their own process in this regard. You can always make the choice to coach other adoptees afterwards.
